I grew up in Littleton, with my parents and my sister. My mom says I was born with attitude, I contend that I just always know what I want. I have always been passionate and opinionated. I went to college at the University of Redlands and graduated with a B.S. in environmental management. White at college I came home one summer to work at IBM which is where I met Mark, the most amazing man in the world. Four years later we got married on top of a mountain! In the mean time I went through Green Corps and became a community organizer. Since I have worked on wilderness, clean energy, environmental justice and political campaigns. Now I have two amazing jobs. I train women to run for office at www.thewhitehouseproject.org, and in 2007 I was elected to the City Council of Westminster. Then my life even got better with the birth of my first child, Tobin on March 24th, 2009.
One of my favorite movies is Amelie. For those of you that have never seen the movie Amelie the main character always gives interesting facts about herself and the other characters - here are some of my Amelie facts.
- I will not drink hot drinks ever (means no hot chocolate, coffee or cider), although I do like soup.
- Sometimes I am still scared of the dark.
- When I was little I would pray everyday for God to make waterfalls; to this day I wish there were more.
- My favorite possession other than my cat is my comforter.
- I laugh a lot and usually never shut up either.
- I despise puzzles and riddles.
- My favorite smell is fresh cut grass.
- My feet look like monkey feet.
- I have a phobia of leeches which is called bdellophobia.
- I love monkeys and wish I had a tail.
