Mark was born in Longmont, Colorado and grew up in northern Colorado. When he was 12, his parents bought a ranch outside the small community of Berthoud. The ranch consisted of 40 acres and they even owned four horses at one point. This small town life seemed to suit him very well as he rarely got in trouble, or at least rarely got caught.

In high school, Mark spent most of his time hanging out with his best friend best man, Josh. He also spent numerous hours at his uncle's house working on his favorite possession, his 1969 Chevelle. During college, he took a job at IBM and that is where he met Faith. Mark graduated with a degree in Computer Science and currently works for an IBM and VMWare partner in the Denver area.

• For the first few days of his life, he held up his index finger, proclaiming himself #1.
• He graduated high school with a class of only 72.
• His favorite food are Papusas, a Salvadoran dish.
• He was a supervisor at IBM when he met Faith, although not her direct supervisor.
